The Long Awaited Website!

September 15, 2009 by Randy Sims

Well, here it is! (well, most of it, anyway!) If it has been hard to locate Shirley or me lately, it's probably because we have had to hide away in a dark corner to get everything in order to launch this new website! It's been a lot of work but we believe that it will be worth it. Not everything is completed yet, but we are closing in on the goal!

The website has two audiences, and two very important purposes!

First, it is for YOU!

We have designed the website to be a daily resource for you. On the homepage, you can check out the NEWS AND EVENTS feed on the bottom left - here you will find the most recent, hot off the press announcements and updates about PBC, our ministries, and our members. On the right, in the sidebar, you will find a place to listen to last week's sermon (or download an MP3) if you missed it, and have access to the complete service in the WEEKLY WORSHIP pdf. Also in that sidebar you can read the PBC Staff blog and get a feel for what is on our hearts and minds each week.

If you click the RESOURCES button on the menu bar, you will find a place to download past sermons, look up and read articles on many different subjects, check out some good books that the Staff recommends you read, and find links to daily devotions and "read through the Bible" programs to help you in your quiet time.

There are photo galleries of our events, ministries, and life together under the MEMBERS menu, and so much more. I encourage you to click around and see what you can find!

Second, the website is for visitors!

One thing we have discovered over the past few years, is that when people move into a community, they search the web for solid churches to visit. A significant number of our newer members found us this way from our old site. Our new page will help us to communicate to others exactly what we are about, what we believe, and what we hold dear. A click on the WORSHIP button above will let them know what to expect when they visit a service - clicking the MINISTRIES menu will give them a description of all our separate ministries - and the ABOUT US button will help them get to know our staff, and understand exactly what we believe and teach.

I hope that you find something of value here at the website. Make it a habit to check in every day to read a daily devotion, check up on news, or read an article that will deepen your understanding and faith.

We dedicate this page to the Glory of God our Savior and pray that it will be a help to you as you follow Him!
